Back with The Vegan’s Hundred

31 Aug

Hi!  Loooong time, no post eh?  I owe you all an update.

What’s new in my life?  A new family member that’s what!  Meet Max! He’s actually my sister’s baby and his name isn’t actually Max, I just can’t bring myself to call him the ‘name’ she picked for him. He likes shoes a lot, inflicting pain on one’s toes and just being really cute.  (That’s my shoe he’s sleeping in)

Last week, I got a break from work and travelled down to the states for a stay. Let me tell you America, I kinda always thought that I didn’t like you, I just thought that you know, Canada was a lot better, I mean we have free health care and all…but I was wrong. I think I kind of love you. I think we should talk about moving in together.

What spurred this romance? Your grocery stores! Oh. My. God. I was like…well like a vegan in a grocery store! There was soy yogurt that tasted like yogurt! And cookie dough soy ice cream! And mimicreme! Newman-os!  And everything was so cheap, a carton of soymilk down there was like half the price than I pay up here. Oh! And I got three pairs of non-leather boots for like 60 bucks, not at a grocery store though. So anyway, I really like shopping in the United States.

I stayed in Portland, Maine by the way, isn’t it pretty?

So how’s that for an update?  It’s kind of lengthy and there’s not one photo of food so I’ll have to redeem myself soon.  As the end of summer approaches so does the beginning of school, I go back Wednesday, two more years to go and I’m done my degree!  So updates might be brief and sporadic, but I’ll try to update more than I did in the summer (shouldn’t be too hard!).  See ya everyone and have a restful labour day!
